Dinosaur Mardi Gras Reviews
I was throughly not impressed with this book and found socbenefical use to read to children to try to get them to understand Mardi Gras. Growing up with Mardi Gras, I was very excited to read this book only to be let down.
Went to the library for the first time* with my godchildren. It was the grand reopening, so there were all worlds of amazingly fun events and cake. I don't know how we'll break it to the 3 year old that it's not always like thatMy 6 year old godson picked this book out, and I read it to him before I left. This entertaining picture book by Dianne de Las Casas had my foot tapping along with the beat. I simply had to read it aloud on my first time through it. Chomp! Dinosaur Mardi Gras, Stomp Stomp! Marita Gentry's playful illustrations bring the c [...]
I am totally going to have to practice dinosaur pronunciation! I hope my littles can sit through such a long book I might skip a few pages. But this is great!
My story time kids loved this book and so do I. There are not many Mardi Gras books and there are even fewer really good read alouds, but this one is great. My kids had fun repeating 'the chorus' "Dinosaur Mardi Gras Chomp, Chomp. Dinosaur Mardi Gras Stomp, Stop. Down in New Orleans." and they were doing the chomping and the stomping. We had a lot of fun with this one. Great story time read!
