While the story's premise was intriguing, I think it's fair to say that Siren is scraping the bottom of the barrel. I'm not sure what's happened to them as even their more reliable authors books have been less than stellar. In this one you have head hopping in the extreme. In some paragraphs the POV changes every sentence. The story itself was disconnected and the timeline was lazy and questionable. WTH did I just read? *headache*The story was all over the place and just not interesting at all. It was a slog to get through it.
there was so much going on with this story that I often did a double take. maybe future books will not be better.

Not a bad book overall. However some parts need a lot better explaining, and Everett at least should have won his challenge. For that reason, 2 stars.
